Digital Downloads

I'm a few days late but I've had a lot going on this past week. We were gone on a quick trip to visit family in the Mid-west this past weekend and didn't get back until late Monday night. Then between work and a few other things I had scheduled this week I've been to busy to get around to updating my blog :( As usual.. better late than never!!

As usual we have our digital downloads that were released today. Here's the link:

http://www.stampinup.com/us/documents/MDS_Downloads_-_October_2.pdf

I also have some super exciting news to share about MDS pricing for projects!! When this was release I was so excited and happy! As a demonstrator it has never stopped me but I know I've heard comments from others before about our pricing. Guess what prices for a lot of different items have been decreased by 50%... now who doesn't love getting a price decrease! I think it's safe to say that we all do! Find the new price list here:

Scrapbooking - Vancouver 2011

Here's a digital scrapbook page that I'm working on. I still need to do some journaling but for privacy reasons I didn't want to post the page with all the info I wanted to add to the page. So you are seeing it without... and I may very well be changing it as well. :) If I do I'll post a "take 2"of the page!

Digital Downloads.. a few days late

With things being so hectic at work I totally forgot that I hadn't posted the link for this weeks digital downloads until today. Ooops.. anyway here it is:

Digital Downloads

I'm pretty excited about some of the digital downloads today... more for my ever growing list. Some days I think the list grows faster than it shrinks. Really it's getting to be high time that I do something about it instead of just adding to it. Hopefully soon, when life settles down a little and I don't have a garden to deal with I can start sitting down and doing some digital scrapbooking again! Anyway here is the link for today's downloads:

Birthday Card - Bird

I couldn't decide what I wanted to do for the card so I decided to just grab a few different items and start stamping and see what happened.. the end result was this card:

I'm quite excited about this stamp set in general I love the bird, and the leaves that are in the set! If you are wondering what it is called it is: Papaya Collage. I'm going to leave it at this for tonight, if you have any questions about what I did for any of my projects feel free to leave me a message and ask :)

Finally stampin again!

So now that life has kinda found a bit of a regular rhythm again I hope to get back to creating more often again. Last night I found some time to create a bag topper and then this evening I made a birthday card. I plan to share both projects with you. I'm not promising that all the stamps I used are current - I usually try really hard, but with baby I haven't had a chance to look through my stamps to see which ones are retired yet.

So here is the bag topper:
and a closer look - blogger doesn't like me tonight and won't post it the right direction.

So there you've got my first project. Now on to the card :)

Digital Downloads - 2 days late

I know I'm 2 days late this week but I figured I'd still post the link for those of you who want to check them out! :)

So without further ado here they are:

Dr. Appointment.

I just had to come back and update that I was pretty stinking close with my guess for Taylina's weight! She was 16lbs 13 oz!! yup, we've got a growing little girl, she gained 2 lbs in the last month. I really hope she slows down, because we are having a hard time keeping her in her outfits very long! Not only that she's getting heavy to carry around.

I've started to take her out of her carseat when we go to the store if I have John with me, or I make sure I wear my Moby wrap so I can pop her in there instead of having to deal with a carseat. Figured out a long time ago a carseat in a shopping cart isn't ideal it takes all the space needed for groceries, and I refuse to put it up on the top section.. pretty unsafe if you think about it. Not only that I can't see over it if I would put it up there!

How cute is this?

So I needed to order some of these fabulous Robeez shoes for Taylina since she has figured out how to get her socks off, by rubbing her feet together.. sigh. So much for Carter's socks staying on, because they sure don't now that she's got it figure out.

Anyway so I was looking and I ended up buying her two pairs because I came across these first:

http://www.robeez.com/Robeez-Soft-Soles-Mix---Match-Mouse-azalea-Robeez-baby-shoes/product.aspx?ProductID=1490&deptid=225&PriceCat=2&Lang=EN-US

and then I saw these and just HAD to have them for her, one problem they won't look cute with everything all the time so to end the dilemma of trying to decide which ones to buy I just bought both :)

now the part that got me was the back...

http://www.robeez.com/i/3705H_9.jpg
The front is adorable with the windmill and bike, but the back with the dutch flag now that we just couldn't pass up! :)

http://www.robeez.com/Robeez-Soft-Soles-Double-Dutch-turquoise-blue-Robeez-baby-shoes/product.aspx?ProductID=1485&deptid=288&PriceCat=2&Lang=EN-US

Why is baby stuff so much fun? You could go broke on all the cute stuff... sigh :)

Tuesday - Digital Downloads Day

Yay I'm super excited about some of the downloads today! I love the Knots and Ties Trim and can't wait to purchase it, and the Noel greeting cards template is a must have as well. You can check them out here..

Now that I've got a laptop again and I actual got my info off of my old one which was a nice surprise that means I need to get back to creating again. I keep telling myself I need to get started on Taylina's album, so maybe one of these days! :)

I also need to finish a page for an anniversary album for my grandparents, hopefully that is one of the files I got back from the ones that were on my old laptop because I had it pretty much ready to go, it just needs an up to date family picture and then I need to get it printed.

That all being said I'm off to go cut up some peppers and bag them for the freezer. As well as some beans and kale... love having fresh veggies out of the garden! :)

Update-ish

Well it has been a while since I've posted a personal update on here. Seems like once you have a baby they take most of the free time you've got and what they don't take that means you try to straighten the house up while baby is sleeping. The fact that I'm working full-time as well doesn't help.

Anyway, so things are going well here.. we are enjoying our precious little daughter. She is so much fun. A few weeks ago she found her thumb and now she loves to suck on it when she is going to sleep or tired. Then she rolled from her tummy to her back and a few days later from her back to her tummy. She has also discovered her toes first she spent just a week staring at them when ever she was sitting in her Super Seat or in her bouncy chair, now she pulls her legs up so she can grab them. So much fun, cute, and adorable stuff. I know I keep thinking to myself that it's unreal how cute she is and such a blessing. We are definitely enjoying every minute of our time with her!

Well.... until she doesn't sleep at night like I'd like her to but it all comes with it. My mom gave me this fabulous book to read, it is called Loving the Little Years ~Motherhood in the Trenches, by Rachel Jankovic. I definitely recommend this book, very helpful and it really helps put things into perspective and makes those night time feedings not so bad after all.

Other than that our daughter is growing like a "weed". We'll find out how much she weighs next Wednesday at the Dr.s but I wouldn't be shocked in the least if it's in the 16-17lbs range. We'll see how good my guess is :) Now here's a picture of her

Digital downloads

I know I've missed a few of these... "digital download days". It doesn't help that I dropped my laptop and it was done for so we had to buy a new one.. in the mean time that takes a while so I was without for almost 2 weeks. Other than that having a baby and working also has a way of making life super busy so it seems like blogging has had to take the back seat :( So sad.. I miss blogging and wish I had more time to do so. Hopefully as T get's older it'll become easier!

All that being said here is the link for today's digital downloads:

Digital Downloads

Once again.. or maybe I should say.. I'm posting the link for the digital downloads! :)

http://www.stampinup.com/us/documents/MDS_Downloads_-_July_31.pdf

Also I'm super excited for tomorrow because MDS 2 comes out and from what I've read there is a ton of exciting changes in MDS 2.

For instance you can:

~ design in spreads
~ add more than one color to a stamped image (this has me so excited!),
~ see color combination suggestions
and one more thing that I'm going to leave you with,
~ you can see all the items you used in your project.

This is just barely scratching the surface... there is a ton of other fabulous changes that make MDS a wonderful program. You definitely don't want to be missing out so order your program today!

So sad...

.. I missed Convention! Really once you've been it's hard to not be able to go! Convention has a way of giving you inspiration and you definitely walk away with a wealth of knowledge. I know next year I definitely plan to do everything I can to be at Convention.. especially since it is their 25th Anniversary! Now you don't want to miss out on that, I know I sure don't. To make sure you can be in on the fun contact me today so you can sign up with your own customizable starter kit.

Now here is just one more fun thing - Every year for Convention Stampin' UP! comes out with a different theme and a theme song. I just thought I would share the theme song with you as well!

I Am... still here!

I promise I haven't disappeared! I've just been ridiculously busy since the beginning of this month. It all started out with a trip to visit my family up in Alberta.. giving the great grandparents the opportunity to meet our little one and so that we could be there for a family reunion. It seems like since then nothing has slowed down, between working full-time coming home taking care of the house, cooking and having a little one there is never a lack of things to do.

To top it all off in the past week or so I also accidentally dropped my laptop. No laptop means no blog updates since I can't do it while I'm nursing T... just another thing to do when I'm not nursing her and usually there is plenty of other things to be done. Right now she is actually sleeping so I figured before she woke up I'd quickly get at least one blog post done.. maybe more we'll see!

Digital Downloads a day late

Sorry that I'm a day late... some days things are just too hectic and yesterday was one of those. I became an Auntie again on Monday/Tuesday morning and so we went to meet our new nephew in the hospital yesterday evening.. anyway as a result things were a little crazy so I didn't get around to this. Figured that you would like to have the link even though it is late :)

Digital Downloads

Since it's late and I'm tired.. I'm not going to say much.. but here is the link for the new digital downloads :) Enjoy!

Baby's mind..

.. well as they say baby's tend to have a mind of their own, honestly I already knew that. Once you have your own baby though and have to care for the 24/7 you just find out how much that saying really means! Last night was a prime example of that saying. T decided that at 2:30ish she wanted to eat.. okay that's fine. Usually I feed her and put her back in bed within 1/2 hour and no big deal she sleeps for a few more hours. Well last night she decided that she didn't want to be sleeping when I put her down in her bassinet.. within 5 minutes she was having a fit, crying etc. So I picked her up thinking maybe she had a burp or something.. well, I tried burping her again.. nothing. Tried rocking her and humming since she really likes that and usually goes to sleep then.. nope she wanted nothing to do with rocking or humming. So fine we feed her some more, maybe she is still hungry.. so she eats some more. Then I went to lay down and feed her since I'm tired and figure maybe she'll go to sleep if we are laying down. Fat chance.. so I'm at my wits end. Finally I had John take her for a while. Well he had her for 1/2 hour and she wouldn't settle and was still wide awake. I ended up taking her again.. feeding her some more and she finally, yes FINALLY fell asleep.. after being up for somewhere between 2 1/2-3 hours. Needless to say, yes she had a mind of her own and poor mom!

Then off to work I went today, and because I was so tired what did I forget that it is Tuesday which means digital downloads.. so off I go to make another post with the link :)

China Cabinet

So excited to finally be able to say that I have a china cabinet. I had a few boxes of china but nowhere to put them out so they were still in the box. 2 weekends ago we went to a local store and bought this super cute china cabinet, and last Saturday John finally went to pick it up. I absolutely love it and got out my china right away and put it in there, LOL :) This morning I got the wine/martini glasses out and put them in the cabinet. Now I just want John to get a board to cut and put it in the bottom part of the cupboard. There is more than enough space for a shelf in there and there isn't one so I figure because I can use the extra storage space I'm going to make sure I have another shelf put in! Anyway... enough rambling, here is a picture of the china cabinet.

Ruffled Shower Curtain

Making a ruffled shower curtain had been in the plans for my downstairs bathroom for a long long time. Actually ever since we moved to this house a good year ago, it just never happened. Between everything going on it just was a someday project. Well about 2 months before Lil T was born I cut all my fabric into strips and sewed them into super long strips. They were all ready to get serged for the bottom seam and do the basting stitch to the top edge and then sew them onto another shower curtain. I cut the top part of the shower curtain off and sewed it onto the clear shower curtain. I used 3 boxes of fat quarter fabric from Stampin' Up. Sadly this fabric is now retired, but I still wanted to share. Obviously you could do this with any of our current fabric selections so have a peak in the catalog and see if there is something you might want to use. Or simply be inspired! :) In case you were wondering the strips were 3" strips.

P.S. A huge thank you to my sister J who sewed this for me during the time she spent helping out after T was born. :) Yes, I just admitted that I didn't do the sewing myself for this project.

Digital Downloads Tuesday

Once again some more new digital downloads. This week we have the new In Color DSP so make sure you buy that because you will definitely want to have them if you have upgraded your MDS to the newest version, that way you can coordinate your projects! I'm so excited about all the In Color's this year, that is definitely not always the case!

MDS: Scrapbooking

So I couldn't resist and just had to use the download I was so excited about this week. The Soft Blooms flowers! Aren't they so neat?? I just love them and am so excited that they are 3 dimensional... I think is just the beginning of all the fun that we will start to see once the MDS 2 comes out.. I think then we will have our socks blown off!  Either way enough typing and here's the page I did.

MDS - Month stickers

One of the latest things that you see a lot is "month stickers" to put on baby's onesie when you take their monthly photo's. I decided that I wasn't going to be spending money on that type of thing when I have a perfectly wonderful program that I can design my own with. Since today my baby is already a month old I had to design the first one, and here is what I came up with.

It's Tuesday - Digital Downloads

Today I was so excited when I saw one of the downloads in particular. You'll have to check it out, because it is these adorable flowers! Now unlike most of the time when I say I'm going to buy it "sometime" I ordered it right away so I hope to post a project using it soon! In the mean time here is the link so you can check out the downloads.

Digital Downloads Day

Here's the link for today's digital downloads!

Thank-you cards

Honestly sometimes I think thank-you cards can be over-rated.. I mean if you give me a gift and I open it when you are there and say thank-you is that not enough? Seems like sometimes it isn't because around here everyone still sends out thank-you cards. For a baby shower etc I get it.. but if you come to visit after the baby is born in my opinion it's not necessary. Who knows maybe I'm alone, but I think that a new mother has enough going on never mind having to worry about sending out cards! That all being said, yes I did make thank-you cards because everyone does it.

MDS - Birth Announcement

Designing birth announcements was a little bit of a debate. I couldn't decide if I wanted to hand stamp the cards or if I was going to actually design them on My Digital Studio. In the end MDS won out because after all for just a little bit of work I would have "xx" amount of cards all done by getting them printed, and still be able to say that I designed them. I did crop out or address from the inside but for the rest the info is all there like it is in the cards.

So there it is. Now I can't wait to see what other possibilities the MDS 2 will have for design!

Time flies!!

On Sunday morning I was sitting in my chair feeding Taylina when I looked at the clock and thought to myself, Wow! a week ago at this time we had just had to make the decision that it was going to have to be a c-section. We hadn't even met our precious little daughter yet! Our life sure had changes since she has been born, it seems like everything revolves around her, and her schedule.

So far things are going pretty well, my parents came for a quick visit last week which was super nice! It sure made a difference having my Mom there to help out. She helped me with nursing and things definitely got much better with that after she gave me some pointers. Sure they help you in the hospital but they don't tell you what to look for to know that they are really drinking etc.

For the rest I'm definitely taking it easy, puttering around doing the odd little thing here and there but for the most part just sitting in my chair.. feeding baby.. and taking a nap once or twice a day.. and doing the same thing all over again. I think the worst part is not being allowed to lift anything other than baby and little things. Especially when I'm feeling like I'd like to do a few more little things... pretty easy to tell myself no though right now since I know it'd be too much. I'm sure it'll get to be much tougher eventually!

One thing I've figured out though is that I intensely dislike epidurals! I hated not being able to feel anything for hours after.. which isn't a bad thing considering I had a c-section and that was painful enough. That being said if I had to go through labor again and have a natural deliver it is not on my list of want to haves to deal with the pain. The fact that you can't feel anything and can't move an inch, even rolling onto your side yourself is miserable! For the first day I had pain meds through my IV, but by the next afternoon I'd had enough of that and didn't think I needed that much for pain killers anymore so I went to Ibuprofen which I took for the next day or two and then that was it. The incision is still painful especially when I tweak it just a bit...it took a while to figure out how to get in and out of bed without having to say ouch for every move, but I think I've got it figure out now :)

Anyway... I'm off to take a quick little nap while Taylina is sleeping since I spent more time up with her last night than I wanted too. She wouldn't settle so I didn't get to sleep until after 12:30, finally I just sat in the recliner and fell asleep with her in my arms. Then I was up at 2:00 to feed her again, which at least only took an hour and then I was able to put her in her bassinet so that I could at least sleep in bed for the rest of the night. Of course only to be woken up by her at 7:00 again this morning since she was hungry.

So that is just a bit of an update on things around here.

It's Tuesday - New Digital Downloads

Welcome our little girl

We welcomed a new little addition to our family Sunday morning. Birth didn't go the way we hoped that it would, since we ended up with a emergency c-section due to her having turned breech in the last few days before delivery. Definitely disappointing to have to deal with but we are so thankfully that she is healthy!

Here is a picture of our beautiful little daughter, Taylina. She weighed 8lbs 8oz, and was 20.5" long. Definitely a good sized baby and I got a lot of comments from people saying "where did you hide that baby" or "you carried that very well".

Happy "guess" date to me..

Well today is my due date and no sign of baby yet. blah.... lol :) Work definitely helps keep my mind off of it to a certain extent, but I'm definitely not comfortable at all anymore and haven't been for the last few weeks. Baby loves putting his/her foot up in my ribs so now they are nice and bruised and it's pretty painful. At my appointment on Monday I finally let the Dr. do an internal, and am I ever glad I waited!! Turns out I'm only 1cm dilated and baby is still at a -3 station. If I'd been checked sooner I would have been really disappointed. Now it wasn't to huge of a deal. Of course I want to be further than that, but plenty of woman go into labor without being dilated at all and baby not being dropped. That all being said.. here is my 40 week bump picture.

The other thing that is starting to really annoy me is everyone asking/saying "oh you are still around", or "when is your due date". John thinks I'm making a huge deal out of it, but I told him that he should try being super uncomfortable for a while and have everyone ask him the question.. lol :) Oh well.. hopefully baby comes sooner rather than later.

Update on Me - Nesting..

Well I guess I should do at least one last update on how I'm doing before baby arrives sometime in the next week or so. (I'm hoping for sooner rather than later but who knows) Where should I start.... I'm thinking with my gall bladder problems.

For the most part the last few attacks I've had in the last month have been a lot more mild, and thankfully only once a week, unlike the multiple times a week that I was dealing with for a while. I'm going to say that this is because of all the different things I've been taking to try help, and I'm also going to say that I'm considering it a success right now! Then last Sunday was a fabulous day for me because I didn't even have an attack, which it's been a long time since I've had an attack free Sunday. Definitely made my day/night. I didn't have to go to work tired/exhausted because I'd spent 2-3 hours awake-ish dealing with the after effects of having an attack, plus it just makes me happy! I'm bruised enough up in that area right now thanks to baby thinking it's a wonderful place to plant his/her feet all the time. So that's the gall bladder update.

Now for the update on how I'm feeling these days. I do tire much quicker these last few weeks, but that's to be expected. Between working full-time and coming home and having to deal with cooking supper and cleaning house, doing laundry etc. Some days there really isn't enough energy to go around!

Last week Saturday I had hoped to get a bunch of things done which didn't happen because of my day going from busy to busier when I ended up getting a "surprise" shower from the greenhouse where I used to work. Definitely nice but it has a way of making life busier than usual when you already have a ton of things planned for the day. In the afternoon we had to find a gift for my Mother in law for her birthday and then later we had maternity pictures scheduled. So definitely more than enough happening that day. So much for anything that was on my list of to do things for the day getting done!

This Saturday I decided that enough was enough and I wasn't scheduling anything for the day, other than things that I had to get done for myself or for baby. I had a few things to return so I did that first thing this morning. Then I came home and decided that I was tired of the "mess" in my house and it really needed to be cleaned much better than it had been in the last few weeks. So today has officially become a "nesting" day according to my Mom :) The entire house hasn't been cleaned yet but I'm pretty happy with the progress I made since by the time I'm done for today the entire upstairs will have been cleaned a lot better than it has been in a while! Considering that, I'm going to say baby is allowed to come any time now! A clean house definitely makes me happy :)

What I didn't get done though because I started cleaning my house so well is the binding sewn on the quilt for the crib. Good thing baby doesn't need that right away because I'd be in trouble if that was the case. Even though that didn't get done, and my downstairs floor didn't get done I'm still pretty happy with how things went today. I even got the pansy's planted in my wine barrels and got to enjoy the gorgeous weather while I was at it!! :) Enough said.. I'm off to try finish the last few things around here and then it's time for some much needed relaxing and sitting back with my feet up since I can tell I've been up on them all day!

Stamper 10 - Butterfly Congratulations Card

I decided to get my act together and post my final project that I did with my Stamper 10 group. I fully intended to do it sooner but things just got a little hectic and then when they weren't hectic I was too tired to feel like blogging. Since I'm due with baby in less than a week (give or take) I figured I should probably do it, since I highly doubt that it will be getting done any time soon once baby arrives. With that said, here is the card:

I love using fabric on cards, so simple all you need to do is rip a one inch strip and adhere it to the card front. The other thing that I absolutely love is the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate. I used it to add some texture to the Real Red cardstock. I'm thrilled with this amazing new product that Stampin' UP! came out with, I believe everyone definitely can use a 12x12 scoring tool, and know just the place to get it! :) Stampin' Up! lol :)

Since I didn't have the Stamp Set that goes with the Summer Smooches Preview I substituted and used the Beautiful Butterfly Stamp Set. I was really happy with how well it coordinated with the flowers. After all how could butterflies not work with flowers :) Now if you haven't used fabric on your cards yet, it is time that you get out some fabric and give it a try! Happy Stampin'

To Do List - April

Since I've been doing this the last few months I figured I should probably post an update this month as well and see what is still on the list. That being said I highly doubt that it will be getting done any time soon but one can hope that some of it get's done eventually! :) So without further ado here is the list.

To Do:

- Sew Car Seat Cover
- Do a deep-cleaning job of the whole house
- Finish the Yellow Brick Road Quilt
- Finish the Jelly Roll quilt
- Sew quilt for pull out couch
- crochet edging on burp cloths
- sew valance for baby room.
- sew binding on baby quilt
 - Finish painting tree in baby room

Finished:

- Cleaned out freezers
-  Finished cleaning/organizing storage room
- Sew aprons
- Sewed binding on Bassinet quilt
- purchased remainder of "must" have baby items
- Pack hospital bag
- Make a bunch of freezer meals

I actually did better than I thought so that makes me happy! Then I added a few things to the list, mainly cleaning out all my freezers, and making several freezer meals.

Digital Scrapbooking

Since I took part of the afternoon off, needing a much needed break... more like a nap, which didn't happen. I decided to work on the "baby's" scrapbook. I've been working on one off and on throughout my pregnancy to record things but kind of fell of the band wagon a little. Since we got maternity pictures taken on Saturday I wanted to include those in baby's album as well, it was an extra incentive to work on doing some this afternoon. I want to share with you a few of the pages that I got done so far.
