Welcome our little girl

We welcomed a new little addition to our family Sunday morning. Birth didn't go the way we hoped that it would, since we ended up with a emergency c-section due to her having turned breech in the last few days before delivery. Definitely disappointing to have to deal with but we are so thankfully that she is healthy!

Here is a picture of our beautiful little daughter, Taylina. She weighed 8lbs 8oz, and was 20.5" long. Definitely a good sized baby and I got a lot of comments from people saying "where did you hide that baby" or "you carried that very well".

Happy "guess" date to me..

Well today is my due date and no sign of baby yet. blah.... lol :) Work definitely helps keep my mind off of it to a certain extent, but I'm definitely not comfortable at all anymore and haven't been for the last few weeks. Baby loves putting his/her foot up in my ribs so now they are nice and bruised and it's pretty painful. At my appointment on Monday I finally let the Dr. do an internal, and am I ever glad I waited!! Turns out I'm only 1cm dilated and baby is still at a -3 station. If I'd been checked sooner I would have been really disappointed. Now it wasn't to huge of a deal. Of course I want to be further than that, but plenty of woman go into labor without being dilated at all and baby not being dropped. That all being said.. here is my 40 week bump picture.

The other thing that is starting to really annoy me is everyone asking/saying "oh you are still around", or "when is your due date". John thinks I'm making a huge deal out of it, but I told him that he should try being super uncomfortable for a while and have everyone ask him the question.. lol :) Oh well.. hopefully baby comes sooner rather than later.

Update on Me - Nesting..

Well I guess I should do at least one last update on how I'm doing before baby arrives sometime in the next week or so. (I'm hoping for sooner rather than later but who knows) Where should I start.... I'm thinking with my gall bladder problems.

For the most part the last few attacks I've had in the last month have been a lot more mild, and thankfully only once a week, unlike the multiple times a week that I was dealing with for a while. I'm going to say that this is because of all the different things I've been taking to try help, and I'm also going to say that I'm considering it a success right now! Then last Sunday was a fabulous day for me because I didn't even have an attack, which it's been a long time since I've had an attack free Sunday. Definitely made my day/night. I didn't have to go to work tired/exhausted because I'd spent 2-3 hours awake-ish dealing with the after effects of having an attack, plus it just makes me happy! I'm bruised enough up in that area right now thanks to baby thinking it's a wonderful place to plant his/her feet all the time. So that's the gall bladder update.

Now for the update on how I'm feeling these days. I do tire much quicker these last few weeks, but that's to be expected. Between working full-time and coming home and having to deal with cooking supper and cleaning house, doing laundry etc. Some days there really isn't enough energy to go around!

Last week Saturday I had hoped to get a bunch of things done which didn't happen because of my day going from busy to busier when I ended up getting a "surprise" shower from the greenhouse where I used to work. Definitely nice but it has a way of making life busier than usual when you already have a ton of things planned for the day. In the afternoon we had to find a gift for my Mother in law for her birthday and then later we had maternity pictures scheduled. So definitely more than enough happening that day. So much for anything that was on my list of to do things for the day getting done!

This Saturday I decided that enough was enough and I wasn't scheduling anything for the day, other than things that I had to get done for myself or for baby. I had a few things to return so I did that first thing this morning. Then I came home and decided that I was tired of the "mess" in my house and it really needed to be cleaned much better than it had been in the last few weeks. So today has officially become a "nesting" day according to my Mom :) The entire house hasn't been cleaned yet but I'm pretty happy with the progress I made since by the time I'm done for today the entire upstairs will have been cleaned a lot better than it has been in a while! Considering that, I'm going to say baby is allowed to come any time now! A clean house definitely makes me happy :)

What I didn't get done though because I started cleaning my house so well is the binding sewn on the quilt for the crib. Good thing baby doesn't need that right away because I'd be in trouble if that was the case. Even though that didn't get done, and my downstairs floor didn't get done I'm still pretty happy with how things went today. I even got the pansy's planted in my wine barrels and got to enjoy the gorgeous weather while I was at it!! :) Enough said.. I'm off to try finish the last few things around here and then it's time for some much needed relaxing and sitting back with my feet up since I can tell I've been up on them all day!

Stamper 10 - Butterfly Congratulations Card

I decided to get my act together and post my final project that I did with my Stamper 10 group. I fully intended to do it sooner but things just got a little hectic and then when they weren't hectic I was too tired to feel like blogging. Since I'm due with baby in less than a week (give or take) I figured I should probably do it, since I highly doubt that it will be getting done any time soon once baby arrives. With that said, here is the card:

I love using fabric on cards, so simple all you need to do is rip a one inch strip and adhere it to the card front. The other thing that I absolutely love is the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate. I used it to add some texture to the Real Red cardstock. I'm thrilled with this amazing new product that Stampin' UP! came out with, I believe everyone definitely can use a 12x12 scoring tool, and know just the place to get it! :) Stampin' Up! lol :)

Since I didn't have the Stamp Set that goes with the Summer Smooches Preview I substituted and used the Beautiful Butterfly Stamp Set. I was really happy with how well it coordinated with the flowers. After all how could butterflies not work with flowers :) Now if you haven't used fabric on your cards yet, it is time that you get out some fabric and give it a try! Happy Stampin'

To Do List - April

Since I've been doing this the last few months I figured I should probably post an update this month as well and see what is still on the list. That being said I highly doubt that it will be getting done any time soon but one can hope that some of it get's done eventually! :) So without further ado here is the list.

To Do:

- Sew Car Seat Cover
- Do a deep-cleaning job of the whole house
- Finish the Yellow Brick Road Quilt
- Finish the Jelly Roll quilt
- Sew quilt for pull out couch
- crochet edging on burp cloths
- sew valance for baby room.
- sew binding on baby quilt
 - Finish painting tree in baby room

Finished:

- Cleaned out freezers
-  Finished cleaning/organizing storage room
- Sew aprons
- Sewed binding on Bassinet quilt
- purchased remainder of "must" have baby items
- Pack hospital bag
- Make a bunch of freezer meals

I actually did better than I thought so that makes me happy! Then I added a few things to the list, mainly cleaning out all my freezers, and making several freezer meals.

Digital Scrapbooking

Since I took part of the afternoon off, needing a much needed break... more like a nap, which didn't happen. I decided to work on the "baby's" scrapbook. I've been working on one off and on throughout my pregnancy to record things but kind of fell of the band wagon a little. Since we got maternity pictures taken on Saturday I wanted to include those in baby's album as well, it was an extra incentive to work on doing some this afternoon. I want to share with you a few of the pages that I got done so far.
