Tractor Card - punches

I have made a few cards here and there but most of the time I've been way to busy with work and my family as well as house work that I don't have time for extra's such as stampin'. Sad fact of my life.. I hope to fix that soon though!!! Before that though, here is a card I made for a 2 year olds birthday today. A tractor - New Holland one, with punches. I realize that some of the punches may no longer be available from Stampin' Up! but I still wanted to share this cute card with you!

Birthday Card

It really feels like a long time ago that I've posted something on my blog that was scrapbooking/cardmaking/digital related. I guess really it's been a long time since I've posted at all. A few weeks ago I made this card for my sister who had her birthday just before Valentine's Day, and I want to share it with you now.

Birthday Card - Bird

I couldn't decide what I wanted to do for the card so I decided to just grab a few different items and start stamping and see what happened.. the end result was this card:

I'm quite excited about this stamp set in general I love the bird, and the leaves that are in the set! If you are wondering what it is called it is: Papaya Collage. MDS - Birth Announcement

Designing birth announcements was a little bit of a debate. I couldn't decide if I wanted to hand stamp the cards or if I was going to actually design them on My Digital Studio. In the end MDS won out because after all for just a little bit of work I would have "xx" amount of cards all done by getting them printed, and still be able to say that I designed them. I did crop out or address from the inside but for the rest the info is all there like it is in the cards.

So there it is. Now I can't wait to see what other possibilities the MDS 2 will have for design!

Stamper 10 - Butterfly Congratulations Card

I decided to get my act together and post my final project that I did with my Stamper 10 group. I fully intended to do it sooner but things just got a little hectic and then when they weren't hectic I was too tired to feel like blogging. Since I'm due with baby in less than a week (give or take) I figured I should probably do it, since I highly doubt that it will be getting done any time soon once baby arrives. With that said, here is the card:

I love using fabric on cards, so simple all you need to do is rip a one inch strip and adhere it to the card front. The other thing that I absolutely love is the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate. I used it to add some texture to the Real Red cardstock. I'm thrilled with this amazing new product that Stampin' UP! came out with, I believe everyone definitely can use a 12x12 scoring tool, and know just the place to get it! :) Stampin' Up! lol :) 

Since I didn't have the Stamp Set that goes with the Summer Smooches Preview I substituted and used the Beautiful Butterfly Stamp Set. I was really happy with how well it coordinated with the flowers. After all how could butterflies not work with flowers :) Now if you haven't used fabric on your cards yet, it is time that you get out some fabric and give it a try! Happy Stampin'

Stamper 10 Project - Summer Smooches - Flower Card

This past Monday I had my Stamper 10 group meeting at my house. We focused on the promotion items, which is the Summer Smooches flyer that I posted the other day. I've absolutely fallen in love with this product line already and was so excited to share with the ladies in my group! Like usual we made a few projects and I'm going to share them with you. The first one I'm sharing is a card, I used lots of different punches to create the flower and then also the Scallop Border punch for a strip of 1x12 DSP that I had them crinkle and then mount onto a strip of 1x5.5 Whisper White Cardstock. Anyway enough information for now, here's the card and then I'll do some more explaining:

So as you can see we used 5 punches for the flower, and then mounted the brad so you could just see the 1/2 inch circle peaking from behind. The stem for the flower I cut using my scissors and just cut a narrow strip of Lucky Limade Cardstock. The bow is made with the Daffodil Delight Seam Binding that is part of the promotion, simply cut a strip and fold it over then you have another little strip that you use and wrap around the center. I use Snail and glue it down as I go since it's easier that way. The strip of DSP that is at the top is a 1/2 inch strip. then last but not least you will also need a scrap to stamp your sentiment on. We used the Hostess birthday Stamp Set, and stamped it in Tempting Turquoise. 

I love how summery and fun the Summer Smooches line is. I honestly haven't done a lot with the Brights collection lately since I seem to be drawn to the subtles, In Colors and neutrals a lot more. Anyway... there you have it! :) Happy Stampin'!

Stamper 10 Project - Just For You, Butterfly Card

Since you already had the sneak peek of this card the other day here is the full card today! :)

I ran it through the Big Shot with a Texture Place to give the main part of the card some fun added dimension! Then using the fabulous Framelits Dies that are in the Mini right now. Stamped on the Whisper White cardstock with Pink Pirouette ink - The stamp set is Flight of the Butterfly. For the Sentiment I used "just for you" from the set, Just Believe. The Baker's Twine is also from the Mini: the Pool Party twine. Honestly I love the baker's twine and the fact that we currently have it available in the In Colors makes it so fun! 

If you were wondering what color Cardstock I used for the main card it is Island Indigo, and the same goes for the Ink I used to stamp the butterfly and sentiment with. 

I'm not going into major details but I'm sure you will be able to figure out most of how to put this card together if you wanted to. I did use Stampin' Dimensionals underneath the butterfly, and the Whisper White Framelits Die to mount it onto the Pink Pirouette one to make them pop.

MDS - Digital Baby : Thank you card

Recently I've been "making" myself purchase several new digital downloads as they come out. The reason is that I've been finding that if I don't purchase the new downloads when it comes to creating a card or project often I don't have what I "need". So by purchasing a few a month this helps me build the downloads that I've got to work with! With baby on the way I've been needing some cute baby images and papers and didn't really have a whole lot. Last week I purchase several different downloads and started creating. I needed a Thank-you card for my baby shower so I decided it was going to be a digital postcard because it is easier than hand stamping 30 cards. Don't get me wrong I love stamping but sometimes digital is the way to go! 

Now I'm sure you are curious to see what I've done, so here it is. 

 So because it is a postcard I did a teddy bear on the back just so that the back wasn't blank and obviously I'll be writing my notes on the back as well. 

Any Occasion Card

About a week ago I was feeling inspired to create cards. Every so often the creative bug hits and the only thing to do is go with the flow. Part of this was caused by needing a card for something else, and the ton of scraps laying around on my stampin' desk. For this card I used only scraps that were laying around. 

Today I'm not going into great detail, but as always if you have questions feel free to ask in the comments and I'll definitely answer them.

Stamper 10 Project - Any occasion Card

First of all I need to mention that credit for this card goes to my Upline: Lisa! Recently Shelli posted on her blog, that often as we create things we are inspired by something we see. We may tweak it a little to change it up, but inspiration usually comes from somewhere. For me some days ideas for Stamper 10 projects come easily and other days not so much. This week happened to be one of the not so much ones, and that's okay! I had seen the idea on Lisa's blog a while ago and loved it, filed it away in my brain for a someday project, which happened to be this week. I used the same concept/layout, just changed the colors and papers I used. Usually I hesitate to use other's ideas but this time I think it was perfect!  (thanks Lisa!)

So here is my card:

My card is made using Soft Suede Card Stock. The scallop was made using the Adorning Accents - Edgelits Die from the Occasions Mini - Pool Party Card Stock. Once again I featured the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper, and my most recent favorite ribbon, the 3/8 Pleated Satin Ribbon. Isn't that ribbon just amazing!?! The minute I saw it in our sneak peak before the mini came out I knew it had to be mine! I've used it on so many projects and just love how much it adds to a card or project! I tied the ribbon in a knot at the end just to add some more dimension. I'd never tied it before but I really like how it turned out!

The circles are punched out using our 1 1/4" Circle Punch, then the little accent is the center flower from the Lace Ribbon Border Punch, and finally I used the 1/2" circle punch for the center. To add a little bling I finished it off with a Basic Rhinestone Jewel. 

Each of the circles I sponged around the edges using Early Espresso Classic Ink and one of our Sponges. Also another thing to notice is once again not exact matching colors between the DSP and the Pool Party Cardstock that I used for the Scallop edge: The DSP is Baja Breeze. Just thought I would mention that so you can once again see how SU! makes their papers to coordinate so well!

Valentine's Day Card

We don't go all out for Valentine's Day, usually just a card and possibly a little something. This year with baby on the way I figure there is enough money going towards baby things that we really need, so I didn't do anything for John other than making him dinner and of course a card. Yes, making him dinner these days is a huge deal I'll probably post more about that in another post though(when I do another update on me and baby). 

So all that being said, I made him the following card. This card was made using the Candy Conversations Stamp, which can be found in the Occasions Mini Catalog. I like how much fun you can have with this stamp by highlighting just the heart you want to stand out. For that matter you could do all the hearts a different color as well if you so choose. I decided for my purpose that I wanted to highlight only one of the hearts. I used my Stampin' Write Markers and colored the stamp. 

So enough explaining, here it is:

My card ended up being a different size from the usual because I was using random pieces of paper that were floating around on my desk. It's still the regular width 5 1/2" I think it's closer to 4" (8" unfolded). Not majorly different than the usual, but enough to make it noticeable.

Once again I don't have measurements, because the pieces that I stamped on and then layered it onto were floating around as well. The Designer Series paper that I used is from the Twitterpated in the Occasions Mini as well.

Card - Birthday

Yesterday evening I spent some time finishing several of the extra cards that I had cut the paper pre-cut for my club. I like to add these cards to my stash so that when I "need" to have a card and don't have time to sit down and make one I can just go to the box and grab one. I actually have a pile of different ones I need to put together yet, but I'll get there eventually! 

While I was there making cards, I also made one for my sister-in-law who had her birthday yesterday. I couldn't use one of the ones from club since she makes them all the time herself so I came up with this one:

One thing I've started doing to a lot of the cards I make is adding the Shimmer Paint "spray" so it's all sparkly. You can kind of see it on this card if you look at the picture closely. I also stamped the "happy Birthday sentiment" in the bottom corner. Since I did tone on tone it's difficult to see in the picture. I have to admit I'm in love with the new Edgelits Dies and Embossing Folders in the Occasions Mini! Love how well they compliment each other!

Stamper 10 Project - Valentine's card

Once again we are getting close to that time of year.. Valentines Day! While I'm not necessarily a huge fan of everything that goes with it, I do like to show others the many different products SU! has to offer. After all how could you not like the cute little hearts from the Occasions Mini! It is an Embosslits Die.. so adorable! 

Enough about that anyway, so the card that the ladies in the group made can be used as a Valentine's card or you can just give it to someone you love any time of the year! Once again this goes to show how versatile SU! products can be. Here is the card:

I popped out the big heart by mounting it on a Stampin' Dimensional because I didn't want them all to be flat on the card. 

The quote comes from a stamp set called: Field Flowers. You'll find that set in the Idea Book and Catalogue.

Stamper 10 Project - Wedding Card

Since wedding season will soon be here I decided that I absolutely had to have the set called Love & Laughter from the Occasions Mini! Most of the time I'm not a huge fan of the sets that they come out with for wedding sets, but this time I was completely in love! 

Obviously there is no way that this set is going to sit on my shelf and rarely get used! I've already put it to good use by making swap cards, and then once again for the ladies in my Stamper 10 group. Here is the project that they made.

This is the third card the ladies made. I didn't add a sentiment to this one so that they could choose what to use it for. One of the ladies mentioned that it would work well for a sympathy card as well.

Just a quick little not about the splatter effect on the Whisper White Cardstock. This was done using one of our amazing markers and the Color Spritzer Tool. It adds a fun effect to a project like this :)

I'm not going to give super detailed directions for this card, but I will tell you what I used to make the card. So here is the list:

Stamper 10 Project - Christmas Card

I know I promised to try and post some stamping related items last week. Which obviously didn't happen :( I can say I tried I just didn't end up having time to get to it. With everything I have going on right now it's hard to find extra time to blog, and even more so when it involves needing pictures.

That all being said I'm here now ready to share a few projects with you in the next couple of days. They were all created and made by my Stamper 10 group this past Monday evening.

 

For this card we used the Mica Flakes that are in the mini catalog, as well as the Silver Glitter Paper, and the Simply Scored! I LOVE MY SIMPLY SCORED!!!! The card in and of itself it fairly simple, and doesn't involved anything super difficult. 

I scored my 12x1 inch piece of DSP at every 1/2 inch for my Rossette. Once it was scored I cut the last 1/2 inch off, obviously because you need mountains and valleys to make them. 

If you don't cut off the last 1/2 inch you end up with two valleys beside each other which you'll find out really quickly doesn't work.  

I punched out a 1 3/8 circle from a scrap of card stock that was floating around on my desk for the base. Generously put on some Tombow Multipurpose adhesive in the centre of the circle. You'll place this on the back side of your Rossette. Hold it firmly in place for a few minutes and wait for it to dry.

- Obviously if you wanted you could also use a hot glue gun, but since I don't own one I did it the difficult way. 

Punch out a 1 3/8 circle from the Silver Glitter Paper, glue onto the top centre of your Rossette. I ran a little glue on top of all the "mountains" of the centre and held it in place for a couple seconds and it was stuck. 

Now for the Mica Flakes. You are going to take your fine point on the Multipurpose Glue and run it along the very edge of the Rossette. Generously pour a small pile of Mica Flakes in your Powder Pal tray and dab the edge with the glue into the flakes. They will stick :)

A special card, for a special someone!

First off I'm going to confess that when I originally made this card it wasn't made intended for this "special" person. That being said it turned out so much better than I expected, that I decided it was perfect! I'm going to post the card the way it is right now, because I've been thinking about making a few changes/adding to it, just to add a little more to it... even though it's perfectly fine right now. 

The other confession I have about this card, is that it's so not in the normal color scheme that I work with. Cherry Cobbler is not usually one of the first color's I think of picking up and using when I'm working on a project, but for this it was perfect!

So there is the card, with a closer look at the front and inside. I'll try post instructions on what I did/used to create this card, sometime this week.

Spice Cake - Card #2

I'm sure there have been a few of you who were wondering when I was going to share another one of the Spice Cake projects that my Stamper 10 group did. Well how about today?! We made two cards, so this is card #2. 

 

Note: For my sample card I used More Mustard as the main CS, but the ladies used Peach Parfait.

Once again like usual... you are going to cut your CS in half, fold it, or score a line using the Simply Scored! 

Very Vanilla & Pear Pizzazz CS - Cut CS to 4 1/4x3"

Stamp your images using Soft Suede ink. 

Watercolor using Peach Parfait Classic Ink pad. Create a spot in the lid.

Take two sponges. First you are going to sponge Peach Parfait around the Very Vanilla CS, make sure you cover well. Then scattered around the edges go over and do some in Soft Suede.

For the button: I tore a strip of 1" wide Spice Cake fabric, cut about a 6" piece. Then I used my Paper Snips Scissor tip to push the fabric through two of the holes from the back and tied it in a knot. 

Apply the button using Stampin Dimensionals.

There you have it. Yet again another simple card, but who wouldn't love to get a card like this in the mail!
