Sewing!

Well, sewing seems to have been the story of my life today! I spent almost all day sewing, I can tell you this much: that it is more than I normally choose to do in a day! LOL :)

Satisfaction: It feels great to have gotten that many pillowcase dresses "finished" in one day. Ok.. I give, they were already half done! LOL :)

Anyway check out this fun pile that I brought to the baby boutique.

One thing that was not so fun about today.. I needed my seam ripper to finish another project that needed button holes but I couldn't find the seam ripper anywhere! :( I search high and low, all over the house anywhere I thought it possibly might be, but nope I couldn't find it anywhere! GRRRRR.... so now you know what I'll be doing on Monday! :)

Pillowcase Dresses..

Well, the latest thing that I've been spending time making is: Pillowcase Dresses! I've currently got quite a few almost finished, and a few more that I need to cut out and then sew! The thing that has me super excited is that they are finally selling in the baby boutique, that I sew them for. I'm currently also trying to get ahead a bit so I can get some more items in my etsy shop.

Either way I'm pretty excited! I did a photoshoot this morning so that for those of you who like to see what it looks like when a little girl has it on could see. Here is a picture of Addison in her pillowcase dress!

Isn't she so cute.. nevermind the dress :)

Sneek Peek: New Catalogue

I'm sure many of you have been itching to find out something about the new catalogue?! The most I can do for you is show you a little sneek peek of a project that I made using some of the new products!

So here is a sample that I made using a new set, as well as a sample of one of the new colors!

This time around I actually decided that I was going to stop hoarding all my accesories, and so I used the Victoria 5/8 Crochet Trim, as well as a mini library clip! For those of you that know me, you'll notice that this card is so not my usual style. I was inspired by a card sample in the new cattie and decided to go with it, to see if I couldn't come up with a vintage style card!

For those of you who like seeing samples so you can re-create them here is what I did:

Supplies:

4 x 8 1/2 piece of Cardstock - Pool Party
4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of cardstock - Crumb Cake
3 x 4 piece of cardstock - Very Vanilla

Soft Suede Classic Ink
Pool Party Classic Ink

Mini Library clips
Crochet Trim - Victoria 5/8

Stampin' Dimensionals
Stampin' Sponge
Snail
Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Big Shot/supplies
Top Note Die

Take your Pool Party Cardstock and fold it in half to create your 4 1/4 x 4" card. Take your sponge and dab it onto your Soft Suede Ink pad and gently rub it over your card to create a vintage feel on the Pool Party cardstock.

Next take the piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and run it through your big shot using the Top Note Die. Texture 3/4 of the Top Note using the "large flower filler" from the Simply Soft, Hostess Set. (I'm not sure how else to explain it) Stamp this image randomly over the piece of paper that you cut out with the top note die. Now rip off the section to the left, by ripping towards you. Take the sponge and once again at some texture by running the sponge gently over the edges and crumple the paper slightly. Then run your finger nail around the corners to make them stand out.  Apply Top Note image to your Pool Party cardstock, using Snail.

Stamp the flower onto your Very Vanilla Cardstock using the Soft Suede Classic Ink, and then stamp the filler image using Pool Party Classic Ink. Tear out the image,by ripping towards yourself, and crumple it slightly. Remember the key word is "slightly". Once again you'll take your sponge and run it lightly around the edges and over the image to create more of a vintage feel.

Now apply this image using 3-4 Dimensionals place randomly on the back side of the cardstock.

You are almost done!

Take approximately, a 4 inch piece of crochet trim and tie it in a gentle knot. Attach this with a SUPER SMALL dab of Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Now take your mini library clip and clip it onto the Very Vanilla Cardstock.

Tada.. there you have all the instructions you need. Aren't you excited about the new catalogue now? I know I was when I got my pre-order items in!

If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!

Etsy: Pilow Case Dresses

Well so I promised to post a picture of the finished pillow case dress so here it is!

I have a little model who will be modeling this dress for me next week, so it will be fun to see what it looks like when she has it on!

Etsy: Looking for suggestions

So I'm currently working on more items for my etsy shop, and for the baby boutique that I sew items for.  My latest projects are 4th of July pillow case dresses, which by the way are turning out super cute (I'll post some pictures when I get them completed.)

Now the thing that has me stumped for ideas is items for little boys. Honestly there has to be cute things that you can sew for little boys as well, so anyone have some ideas? PLEASE, please post a comment and let me know, if you have a link with a picture that's even better!

Fabulous Florets - Card

This was a card that I made for a recent swap and I thought I would share with you, so that if you wish you can make one of your own. Feel free to change the colors up if you wish :) Enjoy!

Supplies:

Fabulous Florets Stamp Set

Melon Mambo Cardstock - 4 1/4" x 11"
Whisper White - 3 1/4" x 2 1/2"
Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper - 1/2"x 5 1/2"

Daffodil Delight Grosgrain Ribbon - 5 1/2" piece

Wild Wasabi Ink
Daffodil Delight Ink
Melon Mambo Ink

Stampin' Dimensionals
Snail
Bone Folder

Take the 4 1/4" x 11" Melon Mambo cardstock and fold it in half, using your bone folder for a nice sharp crease.

Take the piece of Whisper White and stamp all images for flower, Daffodil delight Classic ink for flower, Melon Mambo Classic Ink for the outline of the flower, Wild Wasabi Ink for the stem and leaves on either side.

Then take the cardstock and tear off the left edge, by tearing toward yourself.

Turn the Whisper White cardstock with your image over, and apply 5 dimensionals to the back. Four should be placed in the corners and one in the centre.

Glue strip of DSP(designer series paper), onto card using Snail.

Take your Grosgrain ribbon and apply a small strip of Snail to each end and place onto card, slightly overlapping the DSP.

Then take your Whisper White cardstock that has the stamped image and place onto your card, closer to the top of the card, as you can see in the above picture.

Take the sentiment, from the Fabulous Florets Stamp Set, and stamp this under your image using Wild Wasabi Classic Ink.

A little visitor..

.. which isn't really welcome in our new home, but made him/herself feel welcome while we went to visit my family. On Wednesday when I went down to look for something in my storage room, I found mouse turds in my baking pan.. ugggghh! GROSS :S

Anyway, I never thought anything of it because I didn't hear or see anything else. So today I mentioned it to John, and we decided to do something about it, because the house smelled a little funny, much to my dismay! So we set two traps, and put out some bait, and what would you know? Well we get home to night, and lo and behold, we caught a little friend in a trap in the garage. Hopefully that takes care of things, but for now the traps are still out and I guess that means I'm cleaning anything that might have been touched by a mouse ugh.

So that is about all the excitement for the day!

Honeymoon Scrapbook

Well I finally finished our Honeymoon Scrapbook. The reason I'm so excited is because it will be the first digital scrapbook I've completed, so I can't wait to get it printed!! eeek :)

So now I'm hoping that I can actually get it to post as a video so that you can see the whole book..  I've been trying several times today and so far no such luck yet. So one more time and otherwise I'm going to post it in pages.

So hopefully this works out otherwise I'll be kinda disgusted, especially after all this work.

Having fun with family and friends!

Well this past weekend we went to visit my family, and spent some time with several friends as well. Let me tell you when you have a weekend to visit everyone for some reason there isn't enough hours in a day to get it all done!
