Sewing: Table cloth for large groups...

Well, since I bought my serger last week Friday I've been a busy lady LOL :) Sewing and serging lots of stuff again. My scrapbooking goal has been pushed to the back burner and I'm getting a lot of sewing done now again! That being said I have almost finished the table cloth for when I have both extra leaves in the diningroom table! It really wasn't to hard to do just needed to sit down for a bit and do it, and now that I have a serger it makes my life so much easier!! Anyway here is a picture..

I know it isn't quite done yet.. but a hem won't change the way it looks other than it will be finished off! :) Now I can't wait for the perfect opportunity to use it! LOL :D

Looking Back: July 25, 2009 - Going Home :(

Well our last day of our honeymoon, which meant going home to our little house in Sunnyside. Definitely sad that our honeymoon trip/stay in San Diego was over!! :( Anyway so travelling home!

Looking Back: July 24, 2009

Well, my second last looking back post on our Honeymoon!! Definitely has been fun posting pictures and telling our Honeymoon story from a year ago on my blog! Anyway so here is to the Friday, July 24, 2009! We decided to rent a two person Kayak and go out on the water for an hour! Definitely taught us how to work together haha, and I also learned in a big hurry that someone doesn't have a major sense of rythym which proves to make kayaking a challenge! LOL :) This person was namely my wonderful husband of a week!! haha :D Anyway here is some picture of our day...

Looking at the resort from the water front! (below)
Then in the afternoon we rented body boards and went out to the ocean for a while.
At night we went to a Luau

So that was our day on Friday.. very relaxing! :D

Once in a while..

.. when a certain person doesn't feel like cooking and the other certain person doesn't want to BBQ either then things like today's happenings happen. LOL :) At about 4:30 I said to John. "so do you want to BBQ" His answer was something along the lines of not really so I told him that if he wasn't going to cook I wasn't going to either cause I didn't feel like it! haha I know nice wife eh?!  Anyway things had been kinda hectic for both of us all day, so what did we do instead of cooking supper? Go out of course!!

We went to El Valle, one of the mexican food restaurants here in town, and I have to admit the more I go for mexican food the more I dare try different things! Tonight I tried Fahitas which were so yummy but very filling!!! Anyway here is some pictures, since I decided to take the camera along just for fun! :) John didn't want me to take pictures of him so that is why the first few turned out the way they did LOL...

Here is the "hot" Salsa and awesome chips that you get as an appitizer!
^ My food, you can see that the chicken was steaming hot, served on a hot plate!
John's food, Pollo a la creme

This last picture, well I needed to take it because I love the little pepper men on it.. it was the liner for our chip basket.. LOL :)

1 Year, 1 Month, 1 Week, 1 Day!

Ok, so apparently today we have been married for 1 Year, 1 Month, 1 Week, 1 Day.. haha :) I happened to be looking at my anniversary countdown ticker on the nest and saw that, I thought to myself well it isn't every day that you can say that you have all ones for everything! LOL :) Anyway, the honest truth is it really doesn't seem like we have been married that long at all, and on the other hand it seems like it has been way more than a year!

It is amazing how fast time goes. Last year at this time Tanya and Jacob had just started dating and now they are getting married in a few weeks! The weird thing is, because I was the first one to get married, it will be really interesting/different to go to a wedding for a sibling! I can't wait though!

Also while I'm thinking about dates.. well since it is almost August 29th I'm going to say this... it is hard to believe that two years ago from the 29th we got engaged, and started planning for our big day! eeek.. It is amazing what has all changed in our lives in the past few years!

Looking Back: July 23, 2009

Day 4 of our Honeymoon: Well what did we do that day? We went and hung out on the beach and took a surfing lesson, sadly enough we didn't pay extra to make sure that the photographer took pictures of us! ugh.. :(  so no pics of our exciting attempt to learn how to surf. I actually managed to get up once, for the rest I failed pretty miserably. The crazy thing about it all, you need to put on those crazy wet suits! haha yup can you imagine, I really wish I had taken a picture of us wearing them because it looked pretty funny! haha

Anyway so not to much to say about our day, other than the ocean water is super salty and tastes absolutely horrifically nasty! ugh ugh ugh! haha :) In the end definitely a great experience!!

So there you go.. and notice what else is new but no pics of me the camera lady ;) haha..

Job Searching

I knew for a while now that I was going to really start looking for some more part time work. Cleaning the three houses that I do, two every week and one every other week, plus one of the cleaning jobs that is every week is only temporary right now. So it was time for the job hunt to begin.

Last night I was inspired by a friend to go and get my resume and cover letter all ready to bring to the quilting store in Prosser. I've never worked in a quilting store but always thought it would be fun to do. So after I got my cover letter and resume all ready to go out the door I went to go apply! Whoot! :) The people who own the store were both there today and were super friendly, we chatted for a bit and then I was told that they would think about it and let me know. (check) So now I wait!

In the mean time I also have to admit that I was a "bad" girl when I was there LOL :) I bought fabric... I couldn't resist buying fabric to make a table cloth from for our diningroom table since I don't have a big one for when my family comes. So here is the fabric that I bought:

So this is the fabric, the blue is going to be a square in each corner, and then the brown is for borders, and the cream is the large centre piece. I can't wait to get it all sewn together and then be able to use it the next time my family comes to visit me! :)

Scrapbooking Challenge

Well my scrapbooking challenge after week one seems to be going fantastically great! LOL :) I've got 27 pages done and I told myself I had to get 25-30 so definitely met my goal! Anyway here is a sampling of pages.

Sorry for the poor quality pictures but I wasn't going to take them out of the album just to get good pictures.. so it is what it is!

So there they are... enjoy!

Update

Well I was just sitting in the "office" and decided that I had better post an update post on life in general since I haven't done that in a long time! It seems like life has a way of getting busier and busier, and even if it isn't I just never get around to blogging anymore which is a sad concept! haha..

So what have I been doing with myself lately? Well good question, most days that I'm not cleaning house not to much other than trying to entertain myself... sitting around reading, cleaning my house a little bit, cooking, swimming almost every afternoon in the pool at the in-laws. So as you can see I do have ways of keeping myself somewhat busy. Now as for work, well I have 3 houses that I currently clean. One of these jobs is temporary while the other lady went to Russia to visit her family. This is a gigantic house, and takes 2 people 5 hours to clean EVERY week, it is absolutely crazy, and the house is already pretty much spotless, but hey I guess I won't complain it gives me something to do. Then one of the other houses that I clean I've been cleaning since this spring and it is every other week that I go there and dust, vacuum, clean bathrooms, mop etc. so mostly basic cleaning. Then the last place.. well I've cleaned there since we got married :) My mother-in-laws house... I like cleaning her house! haha... easy to clean (usually) and doesn't take too long!

For some funny reason when I was growing up cleaning house was my least favorite job.. now I actually don't mind it! Some days I wonder if it helps that it isn't yours and you clean it and can walk away and not worry about it getting dirty again. My own house suffers at times though! I have to admit I'm horrible at vacuuming, but it doesn't seem like the carpet gets overly dirty, I mean we don't spend a ton of time sitting around making it dirty either, haha, so in the mean time I can count how many times I've vacuumed since we have gotten married on my two hands.. my bad.. LOL :) Dusting is a completely different story, although it has gotten much much better now that we have a lawn and garden to make the dust settle down! When we first got married cleaning my house and wanting it spotless all the time seemed to be an obsession, I mean I never cared that much before I got married what my room looked like! That did wear off in a big hurry though, I mean you get sick of dusting every two days or so... soon that turned into every 4-5 days.. then into every week, and now hmm every 1 1/2 weeks or so.  The difference being that there is less dust floating around making me feel like I have to dust as well! Which makes me happy!

Anyway so that is that part of my life. Now my latest goal is to get pictures scrapbooked! I decided that I felt like scrapbooking and I really need to get my wedding pictures scrapbooked so that I can look at them when I want to, and not have to look at them on my computer or dig through my BOXES of pictures ( I have three Costco boxes) to look at them. So my goal is to get 25-30 pages done in a week and see if I can't be really close to being finished in a month! Tall orders?! I realize that, but I figure if I didn't set myself up such a big goal it would be taking forever to get it done, and I still have honeymoon pictures to scrapbook as well as tons of other pictures that I've taken over the years that really need doing! Some of them I think I'm going to scrapbook using My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up and get them printed by their printer and see how they turn out. There is something about scrapbooking them the old school way, paper, ribbons, brads, eyelets etc. but I'm feeling like I'm too far behind to keep this up so we shall see if the digital way works better(eventually anyway!).  Anyway for now I'm off to go scrapbook some more pages, yesterday I got 4 pages done and today I decided I better get at least 4-6 done because there is going to be a few days this week I'm not going to get that many finished. Although if I actually count how many pages I have finished since last week Thursday since that is when I decided to do this.. I have already finished 18 pages, and would have today and tomorrow to meet my quota for the week, but I decided that I was going to start my weeks from Monday to Saturday since that seems easier to keep track of!

Walking.. Relaxing ~ Our evening

Well today John decided that we needed to go for a walk so we did... our walks go something like this: Walking along at a fast pace for me, John walking at a fast pace for him, which means he gets ahead of me.. I tell him to slow down and stop trying to make me run.. works for about half a block and he is several feet ahead of me again. At times I will speed up to try keep up with him.. till I get tired of that.. then I just slow down and make him slow down again, other times I'll have to tell him to slow it down a tad... anyway that is how it goes when we go for walks together.

Today after getting back from our walk we went and spent some time in our backyard, which in turn made me run and get my camera since it has been a while since I've taken some pictures of us... so here they are.

This last picture isn't cooperating and posting at the right angle so it is just going to be sideways! :) Can you tell that we love having grass in our yard?! LOL..
