Stamper 10 Project - Summer Smooches - Flower Card

This past Monday I had my Stamper 10 group meeting at my house. We focused on the promotion items, which is the Summer Smooches flyer that I posted the other day. I've absolutely fallen in love with this product line already and was so excited to share with the ladies in my group! Like usual we made a few projects and I'm going to share them with you. The first one I'm sharing is a card, I used lots of different punches to create the flower and then also the Scallop Border punch for a strip of 1x12 DSP that I had them crinkle and then mount onto a strip of 1x5.5 Whisper White Cardstock. Anyway enough information for now, here's the card and then I'll do some more explaining:

So as you can see we used 5 punches for the flower, and then mounted the brad so you could just see the 1/2 inch circle peaking from behind. The stem for the flower I cut using my scissors and just cut a narrow strip of Lucky Limade Cardstock. The bow is made with the Daffodil Delight Seam Binding that is part of the promotion, simply cut a strip and fold it over then you have another little strip that you use and wrap around the center. I use Snail and glue it down as I go since it's easier that way. The strip of DSP that is at the top is a 1/2 inch strip. then last but not least you will also need a scrap to stamp your sentiment on. We used the Hostess birthday Stamp Set, and stamped it in Tempting Turquoise.

I love how summery and fun the Summer Smooches line is. I honestly haven't done a lot with the Brights collection lately since I seem to be drawn to the subtles, In Colors and neutrals a lot more. Anyway... there you have it! :) Happy Stampin'!

Stamper 10 Project - Paper Doily Card

Another fun project we did with my group this past class was use the paper doily for a card. I had recently ordered it and completely fallen in love with this Sizzlit Die. Not surprising since I absolutely love doilies! I was trying to come up with a different way to use it though since everyone uses it as an "embellishment" on the front of their cards. I wanted it to be the full focus of the card. In the end here is what I came up with:

I cut out a piece of the DSP to fit over the die, and then used the reverse side for the doily, so all you have to do is use one piece of DSP and flip it. For the center flower I used the Scallop Circle Punch and the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch, I adhered the flower from the Blossom Bouquet with a Stampin' Dimensional. Finishing it off with a Jewel - One of the Large Basic Pearl Jewels that are currently in the Mini Catalog!  Once the card was all put together I did what I seem to do to a lot of my projects lately, spritz it with my Shimmer Paint Spritz. It gives it that final touch!

I have one more Stamper' 10 Project to share which you should see up in the next few days or so! In the mean time happy Stampin'!

Stamper 10 Project - Floral Card

This is the third card the ladies made. I didn't add a sentiment to this one so that they could choose what to use it for. One of the ladies mentioned that it would work well for a sympathy card as well.

Just a quick little not about the splatter effect on the Whisper White Cardstock. This was done using one of our amazing markers and the Color Spritzer Tool. It adds a fun effect to a project like this :)

If you have more questions let me know.

Punch Art: Card

I don't have time to say a lot with this card. I followed a youtube tutorial so if you want to make a monkey using punches just go to youtube and search for Stampin' Up monkey punch art.

This was a card that I created for a friends baby shower. :)

So there is my stampin' share for today! I hope to get back and post some other projects soon!

My Digital Studio - Technique - multiple images in a punch

For lack of something better to call this technique, I'm calling it the Multiple Images in a Punch Technique. You have already seen this done in my other MDS technique post, because that is how I created the image effect in the tag. So are you ready to learn?!

Step one: First of all, when you open your project you are going to add a punch to your project. For mine I've used the Decorative Label Punch. Once the punch is added you are going to choose to paper fill the punch. Select the DSP you wish you use and click ok. Now you'll want to double click on the centre of the punch, you should get the Punch Image Editor to pop up. The nice part about the punch image editor is you can change the size of your DSP image so it is either larger or smaller. I'm going to make mine smaller, so that means I need to zoom out. I know.. isn't this amazing!?! I honestly didn't know about this until a few weeks ago! Once you get it to the size you want click ok and tada. Step one is completed!

Step two: Make sure your punch is still selected. Now you will want to go to your menu, click edit/copy. Then once again in your menu, click edit/paste in place. You should have two images directly on top of eachother. Double click on the top one to bring up the punch image editor again, you are going to click on the centre of the DSP area, and drag the "paper" to the side so that half of the punch now has nothing in it. Click ok when you have it moved to the desired area. Send punch to back.

Step Three: Now you will want to work with the 2nd punch. Double click to open image editor again, but this time you are going to choose to Replace Image. You can replace the image with any picture that you have on your computer and move it around the same way we did the DSP, by clicking and dragging. This picture is going to be on the opposite side of where you have placed your DSP image.

Step Four: Now that you have two punches with images in them feel free to layer them as you wish by either bringing the one to the front or the other to the back. Depending on how you have aligned the images. Once you have them the way you want them you may want to group the images so that you don't have to worry about them moving around on you. This also makes it much easier to move the image around on your project!

I hope that this makes sense... if you have questions let me know and I'll be happy to try answer them!  In the mean time, happy creating!

Tip: you can add multiple pictures to a punch if you want, you just need to align them so that the image that you want to see will show where you want it too.
