The joy of my life! :)

So a lot had changed in this past week! First of all I applied for a job advertised in the paper last week, just figured hey whatever I'll throw my resume out there. Of course I never expected to even be considered for the position because I'm due in about 6 weeks!! Got a phone call the end of the week asking me to come for an interview on Monday. So I figure, okay that's all fine.. I'll tell them right up front that I'm due in about 6 weeks/mid-April. They'll interview me but be like "nope, she's way to close to having her baby", end of story.

Well apparently it wasn't the end of the story, Wednesday evening while I was out they called and John talked to them. They mentioned that they were calling in regards to a job offer. When I came home John told me this and I was freaking out... kinda like OH NO what have I done!!!!! Since I came home after the time she said I could call back I sat on pins and needles all day Thursday until about 2:30 or so. Called, and yes indeed they were offering me the position. Starting on Monday, with a very decent $$ for around where we live, if they are happy then after 3 months I get a $1 raise.  I work until baby get's here, then I've got at least 6 weeks off, and then..... back to work but.... :)

When I had the interview one request I had also made was if I'd be able to take the baby with me to work. So they discussed it as a family and decided that for at least the first 4-6 months I could, after that I guess I need to figure something else out. So all in all after they bent over backwards to accommodate my request I couldn't really say NO I don't want the job! (well I could have but you get the idea)

Quite honestly I'm freaking out a bit right now! No joke! The good thing is that I've got pretty much everything that HAS to be done before baby get's here finished... everything that's not well it'll still be there later. Sure we still have to buy a few things for the baby room that we need before baby get's here, but that can be done in the next few weeks yet. Sewing projects that I figured I had lots of time to get done, well they can wait and the ones that I'd like to try get finished I guess we'll find out how much energy I have in the evening hours to work on them. What get's done, get's done and like I said whatever doesn't well that's okay.

So by now I'm sure you are wondering what the job actually is. It's a secretarial position for data entry on a dairy farm. Since I had 2 years of secretarial experience, and grew up on a dairy farm ~ two big reasons I decided to apply.

Even though the situation isn't completely ideal, because I'd much rather be a full-time SAHM the fact of life is that if I'm going to get a job and possibly save some extra money, now is the time to do it not 5 years down the road.

Now as far as baby things that still are on the to do list, and these can be done later:

~ crib sheets
~ binding on crib quilt
~ finish painting the tree on the wall

That's about the list of things that need to be done for the baby room. So I think I've done pretty good!

So that's my latest news!

Work has begun!

Well, I'm not saying that I don't work when I don't have a "full time job" because all the things I've been doing is pretty much a full time job in and of its self. Since day one is done, and I survived pretty well, in fact I still have more than enough energy. The only problem, a slightly sore right thumb from using a scissor for more than 5 hours today, as well as sore feet from standing on a concrete floor.... Now I'm going to head off to bed soon and get some sleep so I can be well rested for another day, and be ready for the rest of the week!

In the mean time I can't wait for Thursday night.. Sale-A-Bration workshop for Brenda, here we come! :) I'll share several of the projects after the party!

Work: Greenhouse

Well, just like last spring, once again I will be working for my hubby's uncle in his greenhouse. I'm excited about that, but at the same time it will be interesting to see how things work out this year compared to last year.

-Last year at this time I had just barely finished all my immigration paper work and was sitting at home bored stiff most of the time.

- This year, I have my Stampin' UP! business which seems to be doing fairly well. I also have been sewing for a local baby boutique, so those projects are taking up a lot of my spare time.

Between church functions, Stampin' Up!, sewing, working, and everything else including having to pack up my house and move I will definitely have more than enough on my plate! So it will be interesting to see how things work out.. at the same time I'm super excited and can't wait to start working! It will be great to have a change of pace again, and at the same time I will be getting out of the house.

Next week is a big week for me.. start working on Monday, Wednesday night I have Bible study, Thursday night my first Sale-A-Bration workshop for Stampin' Up!, Friday morning I have a dentist appointment... so there goes my week already! lol :) As of right now I have a ton of stuff to do before Monday, and right now I'm exhausted from everything I did today so I'm going to leave my post at this for the day!

Done working in the greenhouse for now...

Well last week Thursday was my last day working in the greenhouse, which I surprisingly miss even though I didn't think I would! I have this feeling it is more the fact that I just miss having a job since it gave me something to do other than sit at home being bored! Anyway my resolution is to get the following things done..

1. Wedding Scrapbook
2. Aprons for gifts
3. Curtains/Pillow shams for our room
4. Find another job or focus on selling Stampin' Up or Winalite!
5. Finish Table topper that I sewed a few months ago
6. Sew the quilt for the couch in the living room
7. Go buy glass for two frames so I can put the Manhattan Flower on the glass (decor in my living room on the focal wall)
8. Finish organizing the Office (getting there)
9. Plant my flowers, and seed my garden in a couple weeks
10. Do spring cleaning in my "little" house :)
11. Finish off my antique trunk

So I think that is enough of a list to keep my occupied for a while.. So I guess the question should be why am I actually bored?! LOL :) Truth is I think I just miss being around people and so then I just don't feel like doing anything, even though there should be some sense of accomplishment if I do some of the following things...

I'm officially employed!

Well, I started working last week Wednesday.. officially I had a job that Monday. Since I've started working, well life seems pretty hectic, get up in the morning, pack my lunch, eat breakfast as I do so.. and run out the door.. sit at John's parents' for 1/2 hour drink a cup of coffee there and then off to the greenhouse to work.

I got a job working for Sunwest Growers which is John's aunt and uncles greenhouse which is a few houses down from his parents so that works out well for us since we have only one vehicle. John drops me off in the morning and goes to work and then I can wait for him at the end of the day at his parents' place. I end up eating my lunch and stuff there as well since most of their employees are Hispanics and they speak Spanish, the little english they do know is pretty difficult to understand.. so that works for me.. it also give me a chance to relax for a bit! ;)

Most days my job is clipping mint and then replanting the clippings after dipping it into "kelpac" (it is made from kelp and helps the clippings grow roots, btw I have no idea if that is how it is spelled but that is how it sounds!) and then planting it into plug trays.. oh yeah that joys. Not the greatest job but it is a job so I'm not complaining. Today I actually was working in Uncle Bill's field pruning some of his grape plants...

So last week my complaints were.. sore feet, back/neck, and being super tired.. so far this week.. well I've got a really sore hand and got more than enough blisters on it from holding a clipper for 6 hours of the day. Yuppers the joys.. hehe.. other than that well I've started working on my tan.. hehe.. it was gorgeous weather out today.. 15 celcius and so yup my forehead is slightly red..

Random things...

Well I've been super busy the last few days and today isn't going to be any different, but I do think that I'm not spending all day working. There is stuff that I'm not getting done right now that I want to get done, which isn't cool at all! The Thank-you cards are still sitting on the desk, because I haven't had the car all week so far and since I started working I haven't had time to finish them :( UGH!

Anyway so today the plan it(once I get motivated) to go to the hospital get my blood work done(ugh) and then head over to Tante Maaike's house to finish priming the south wall, from there over to Mom & Dad's place to do my weekly cleaning :( I'm pretty sore from everything that I've done so far this week, which isn't helping me get motivated at all :(

But off I go otherwise I still won't get anything done today!
