MIA
So I'm going to be MIA for the most part for next few weeks. We have a family wedding to go to so that is going to be keeping us busy, and we hope to do some sight-seeing as well! If I have time to post I may.. and otherwise I'll be back in about two weeks!

Sneak Peek: Holiday Mini
I'm sure most of you have already received your holiday mini's in the mail if you are on a mailing list through a demonstrator. Now I just wanted to share a few cards that I have made using some of the sets in the mini.
One thing you do find out in a hurry with this stamp set if you want to use it the way I have coloring with markers can be fun but a lot of work! I would explain what I did and how I made them but right now I need to get packing for our trip! Maybe if I have some time later!

My Digital Studio: Technique #4 - Color Filling Line Images using Punches
Ok, so I've decided that my laptop is officially in a love hate relationship with me.. or my internet. I'm actually not sure which one it is. Regardless I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can get this posted!
So are you all ready to learn this new technique?!
Step #1
1. Open your MDS software on your computer.
2. Then you are going to select - New Project
3. Select Tag
4. Select 2 1/4 x 4 1/4 Portrait
5. Create your Own tag
6. Name project
7. Change your background color to Very Vanilla
8. Next add your line Image stamp. I used the bird from the set Friends 24-7
9. Select the shape punch that will work the best for your image. I used the Oval.
10. Fill your punch, by clicking on Paper Fill
11. Now you'll want to double click on your filled punch image to bring up the Punch Image Editor. You are going to drag the Fill paper out of the punch so once again it is blank/empty.
12. When you return to your project you'll be able to see that the punch is there due to the gray squares outlining the punch.
13. Select Drop Shadow from the Punch Menu in Design Center. Set Opacity to 50%, Change Blur to Medium, and change your color to your desired color.
14. Do the same for all other area's that you want to color fill.
15. Once you are all done, Select your image and bring to front.
And there you have my final product. So now whenever you need tags for something.. use MDS :)
I hope that you learned something fun and hope that you'll use it in your future products! This is all for the Techniques on MDS that I learned things about at Convention. I promise I will try post some other ones in the future though!

What is going on in my life...
... well for starters I've decided that I'm tired of random boxes and items hanging out in my house taking up space that I could figure something else for. So, that means I've been cleaning, and tossing, and deciding what goes into a bag for a possible yard sale! Purging time I guess! It feels so good to get rid of things and to get organized! Doesn't help matters when we moved I was working full-time and the last thing I felt like doing when I got home was organizing etc. So now is as good as any time I suppose.
Hmm and other than that, let's see what else. I spent this afternoon canning peaches for myself, 12 quarts to be exact. All I can say is that having to do it by yourself isn't half as exciting as doing it with your mom and siblings. It was always a whole family event standing around the table in the kitchen doing peaches, cherries, pears. As much as we hated doing it as kids, looking back it was a lot of fun.. we would listen to music, eat fruit as we put it into jars. A lot of the time more than mom wanted us to be eating hahaha, but she was at least happy that we were eating fruit! Trust me most of us kids could hardly be forced to eat fruit, and she didn't complain if we wanted to eat some while putting it in jars. Even if half if not the whole peach ended up in our mouth rather than in the jar a few times over! Ahhhh memories are just great! :)
What else, I got a Stampin' Up! order today, I'm super excited to start making some cards for a swap, using products from the Holiday Mini! I'm sure you all can't wait to see what is coming out. Let me just say some of the items will just make you drool!!! So amazing and fun :) That's all I'm going to say about that for now.
The other thing, I finally got my first My Digital Studio photo book printed a few weeks ago and I'm so happy with it! It was the photo book that I did on our honeymoon. So now that I have one in my hands I need to sit down and work on a few others and get them done sooner rather than later because they are so nice to have! I've got 3-4 other books on the go right now so I promise there will be more "video's" of them as I complete them. I should say that I stand somewhat corrected though, because I did make one for my Mom and Dad of our wedding pictures.. but I haven't even seen it! *GASP* I know.. but it's not like they are right next door to me either, and every time that I go there I don't think about asking to see it! I may have to change that this next/coming visit!
So that is about all! I hope to be back tomorrow with a My Digital Studio technique post.. which hopefully it cooperates this time around. Possibly some other fun idea posts in the next week or so! So keep checking back :)

Technique: In-Laid Embossing - Polka dot fun - Card
This was one of my "quick" I need a card now projects. My Father-in-law had his birthday a little while back and like usual I waited until just before we had to leave to go make a card! (ask my hubby he gets frustrated at times, he's always waiting for me to finish making a card)
I'm sure for some of you this technique is nothing new, but I want to share it with you anyway :) So here goes.
First you are going to punch out various sizes of circles using our circle punches. Then you will glue them onto the front of the card. You'll want to make sure that you have prefolded your cardstock and only the front gets placed on your embossing pad. Once it's embossed, you will add the sentiment by gluing it on with the Multipurpose Liquid glue.
I'm not giving you measurements for any of this because most of this card depends on what sentiment image you choose to use. Stamp that on a piece of cardstock and layer accordingly with the other colors beneath that.
Now here is a closer look :)
I hope that you enjoyed this fun card, and I hope that you are feeling inspired to go try it yourself now! If you need any supplies let me know, or you can shop from the convenience of your home.
