Guess what came....

... by FedEx?

Yesterday we finally got something I've been waiting for, for about 3 weeks now!

I'm rather impatient when it comes to waiting for 3 weeks for something to come, especially because I wanted it sooner haha :) Even more so when it is something baby related! We bought our stroller at a huge discount on Cyber Monday. The stroller came with a Bassinet as well which I really liked. Anyway... we bought a UppaBaby Vista.

For those of you who have no idea why I would decide to get a UppaBaby, here is the short of it. I love the versatility of the stroller. You can add a second seat, called a Rumble Seat, for child #2 at some point. Also, you get a Bassinet with it, that you can use with the stroller. Buy an adapter and you can put your carseat on it and use the Rumble seat at the same time. (You also have an option to buy something so a third child could stand on that at the back as well.... but that isn't one of the reasons why I got it). The biggest reason was that I can add the 2nd seat for child #2 at some point hopefully. I love how it handles etc. Now we just wait several more months until we can actually officially use it.

Here is some pictures first of John putting it together, and then of the stroller with the bassinet on it.

'Tis the Season...

... for Gingerbread Houses. Last night with a group of us, we decorated homemade Gingerbread Houses. I have never done a "larger" sized one before so it was interesting. Before I went I looked for some ideas online, but it's still hard because you don't know what everyone else will bring for decorations.

Here is a few pictures.

Here is a few pictures of mine.. didn't turn out the way I wanted it too... but I spent to much time trying to decide what to do to the walls of my house.

My To Do List

It's been a while since I've done a to do list on my blog, but I'm feeling the need to do one again. I've got several things that are going to take a while to finish. As well as some that won't take so long but they all need to be done. Some in the next week or so, others not for a few months. Either way lists always seem to have a way of motivating me to get things done! So here goes:

1. Sew Dress for order
2. Sew Car Seat Cover
3. Find pattern for Baby quilt
4. Buy Fabric for Baby quilt
5. Paint Crib
6. Paint baby room
7. Finish Crocheting edge on receiving blanket
8. Mail Christmas Cards
9. Buy birthday gifts for 2 siblings
10. Finish Thanksgiving Frame - Decor
11. Do a deep-cleaning job of the whole house
12. Sort Fabric scraps
13. Finish the Yellow Brick Road Quilt
14. Finish the Jelly Roll quilt
15. Sew quilt for pull out couch

So I think that is enough for a start. I guess I've got my work cut out for me! I could definitely add much much more to the list but I don't want to overwhelm myself, it's long enough as it is! The one thing that I should really add is that my wedding album needs to be finished! I have this funny feeling that won't happen before the baby is born though. Maybe I just need to sit down and start doing it here and there, at least I'll get a few more pages done... lol :)

That is that... I'll see how much I can get done in a week, hopefully I can get some things crossed off of the list before Christmas!

Is it really December already?!

I honestly can't believe that it's the 1st of December already! This year has seemed to fly by. Not a bad thing though, lots of good things have happened so I won't complain! With December come out all my winter decorations. Usually it would be earlier.. more like mid-November, but this year I decided to buy some Fall/Thanksgiving decor so I couldn't pack that up until after Thanksgiving!

Things I love about this time of year:

1. Listening to Christmas music (psst I've been listening to it since the last week in October already)
2. Poinsettia's
3. Snowmen - decorative, and the real ones outside when it snows here
4. Sending and receiving holiday greeting cards!
5. Yummy holiday flavoured drinks - Peppermint Hot Chocolate etc.
6. Peppermint Candy Cane's
7. The smell of pine/evergreen greens in flower arrangements - I bought a pine wreath for my front door this year, I won't tell you how tempted I was to leave it in the house because it smells so good I think it means a trip to the flower shop is due so I can get an arrangement for the house with some pine in it. We'll see though!

There is definitely more I could add to the list but I think I'll leave it at that for now! Off I go to make some cards for several friends!
