Spice Cake - Cellophane Treat holder.

One of the products in the Holiday Mini that I got really excited about at Convention when they showed us was the little Cellophane Treat baggies. If you haven't seen them yet, I'm sure you'll be just as excited as I was! A quick easy way to make a fun little treat for your class, for your kids to give to their friends, place them at each place setting for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. The possibilities are endless!!!! When are they not with Stampin' UP! I'm sure you are liking what you are hearing so let's get to it. 

This is another project that my club did last week. It was super simple, but a fun idea. You could even make them with your kids, think about how much fun they would have stuffing the treat into the baggie's. 

So that was the project. Very simple, but that's what makes it so nice since you can do it with all levels of stampers! Including children if you wanted! From what I figured out each treat bag held 18 jelly beans and I could still close it easily and have some room to attach my tag.

My Digital Studio: Ribbon Loop technique - scrapbook page

So I shared this technique with you after I got back from Convention. Today I was inspired to try something different using this technique. Namely... making a flower using the Victoria Crochet Trim. I was working on a page for my Yearly Scrapbook. The page was for my brother-in-law and sister-in-laws wedding pictures(or at least a few shots that I had on my camera). She had this Vintage-y feel to her wedding dress. Not as much as it could have been but it made me think of the Crochet Trim right away! 

Well enough chit chat, because I know you really want to see what I've come up with! So here it is :D Let me know what you think, and if you are feeling inspired enough to go create something I want to see it.

Now for the scrapbook page that I came up with. Since that was the main point of creating this flower!

Some new Pans!

So I'm super happy that I finally found the same pans as the set that I have and really love on the Macy's website. I knew that they had them in the huge sets, but I didn't need another huge set. I was looking for some individual ones. Today was the day I scored!!! YAY :)

A quick update on me..

Well, since I posted our little "secret" things have been kinda up and down. I've still been taking the medication from the Dr. for the nausea. Last week, or should I say the beginning of this week I found out the hard way that I'm not ready to be off of them. Thursday I took one... things seemed to go pretty well, so... Friday - Sunday I didn't take any. Sunday I was queasy, but as long as I ate it was fine. Well.... Monday morning....... WAS TERRIBLE! Puking, like way more than I like.. and I couldn't keep anything down. So back to the medication it is. Now I'm back to taking the two a day and things are just fine again.

It's obviously going to be a little longer before I try not taking them again. But hopefully in a few weeks it will be past!!! I keep hoping so anyway. Other than that, energy levels are usually ok, but don't ask me to do too much. If I go do a ton of stuff in one day I pay for it and am super tired! Most days that I don't sleep in a little longer in the mornings I'm taking a nap for about an hour to make it through the day. I'm starting to like naps.. never thought I would say that, as a teen I HATED naps!!!

Then on top of feeling miserable I've got a toothache now. BOOO, what's next. Anyway, so I went to the dentist got some anti-biotics to get rid of the infection. Then in about 5 weeks I need to go in and get a root canal done.. blech.. I guess it needs to be done so I'll get over it. I got to say that I HATE my teeth! I jokingly told John if I could have 1/2 the teeth from someone who doesn't have cavities all the time I would gladly trade (psst namely him) haha.

So that's about all the news there is. Nothing fun but it's life!

Spice Cake - Card #2

I'm sure there have been a few of you who were wondering when I was going to share another one of the Spice Cake projects that my Stamper 10 group did. Well how about today?! We made two cards, so this is card #2. 

 

Note: For my sample card I used More Mustard as the main CS, but the ladies used Peach Parfait.

Once again like usual... you are going to cut your CS in half, fold it, or score a line using the Simply Scored! 

Very Vanilla & Pear Pizzazz CS - Cut CS to 4 1/4x3"

Stamp your images using Soft Suede ink. 

Watercolor using Peach Parfait Classic Ink pad. Create a spot in the lid.

Take two sponges. First you are going to sponge Peach Parfait around the Very Vanilla CS, make sure you cover well. Then scattered around the edges go over and do some in Soft Suede.

For the button: I tore a strip of 1" wide Spice Cake fabric, cut about a 6" piece. Then I used my Paper Snips Scissor tip to push the fabric through two of the holes from the back and tied it in a knot. 

Apply the button using Stampin Dimensionals.

There you have it. Yet again another simple card, but who wouldn't love to get a card like this in the mail!

My Favorite "new" Stampin' Up! product line

So when we saw the holiday mini at Convention, I fell in love with the Spice Cake product line immediately. Did that mean it was the first thing I bought as soon as I could order from the mini? NO... believe it or not I ordered several other sets and items first. I signed up for a card swap and decided to get two other sets that I really liked for that. It was hard to choose, because there is so much in the Holiday Mini, and you can't get it all at once.. well maybe you can but I tell myself I have to have some self control and can't! LOL :)

Anyway, so now that I've started a Stamper 10 group here in the US, I decided to order several of the Spice Cake products because I simply had to have them. If I didn't get them for this month's club then I wouldn't be getting them at all. I'm going to share one of the cards that the ladies made last night.

The main color of paper for the card is Pool Party.

Take the Pool Party CS, cut your 8 1/2" x 11" Cardstock into a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece.

Fold for your card.

Next you are going to cut a 4 1/4" x 1 1/2" piece of Pear Pizzazz CS

Now take a piece of Chocolate Chip, and cut it to 4 1/4" x 1"

Using Snail, glue the Pear Pizzazz and Chocolate Chip CS together, then glue onto the card front. 

Stamp the basket of pears onto a piece of Very Vanilla card stock using Soft Suede Ink and cut the image out using your paper snips. Color in the pears using Peach Parfait Ink, with a blender pen. You are going to create a little ink spot on the top of you ink pad(lid) so that you can water color. Stamp the Grateful sentiment in the corner with the Soft Suede ink as well. 

For the bow you are going to tear a strip of fabric that is 1 1/2" wide and cut it to be about 5-6 inches in length. Tie this in a loose bow. Adhere to the Chocolate Chip CS using a mini Glue dot.

So there you go.. a very simple card, and yes so cute! :)
