What If?

I just finished listening to an amazing speaker, Jon Acuff, who is also a speaker for Dave Ramsey. He has really gotten me to start thinking so now I've been challenged by something he said.

The problem with today's generation (his and also my age group) is that we have become dreamers and not doers! This is so true, because how many of us today have a day job and then say that our ideal job is something else? WE NEED TO BECOME DOERS AND NOT ONLY DREAMERS!!

I'm going to challenge everyone to think of something that they've been dreaming of but not doing! Please leave a comment below stating why you haven't accomplished that goal!

I'll be the first to admit that being pushed out of my comfort zone isn't always something I enjoy. Although I do tend to do this frequently to myself, but then get stuck in a rut and just remain there for a long time again because it is easier then continuing on. So the dream dies, and once again I can start from point one again!

All that being said, since I encouraged you to share I will as well. Some of you may be aware of this dream of mine and other's not so much. My goal by posting this is that I will feel more accountable to everyone, and by saying that I am also giving each and everyone of you the right to hold me accountable. So definitely call me out on it once in a while!

My Dream: Be a sucessful Stampin' Up! demonstrator with a large downline and a thriving business.

Now why is that only a dream, and why have I not DONE something with that, as in really make it happen? I have to admit I haven't exactly sat around and not done anything, but it seems to go in spurts. So I'm going to have to admit I'm a pretty bad DOER myself! I'm definitely going to try to better, in fact there is notes going up on my fridge etc. Goal charts everywhere in my house, until this becomes something that is easy to DO and I can do it day in and day out.

I'm going to admit, I have fears of the unknown and I'm sure many others do as well! My biggest fear is not being able to find a customer base. Still being fairly new to the area in which I live isn't helping me, but I think that has always been a fear that I've never worked through. I know for a fact that I struggled with this fear before I got married as well! So maybe it is time to change it, and see my DREAM's become alive! One last note: Any sucessful business person/owner knows that things don't happen over night but you have to perserver!!! Keep on DOING 24/6!!! So with this I'm challenging myself and everyone else to become a doer!

Cards - Bliss Set and Because I Care

So last night I was suddenly really in the mood for some stamping! Since all my stuff it within arms reach, well maybe not quite but close, and my desk is always ready to go for some stampin' time it didn't take me long to stamp these two cards below.
The one above, I used shimmer paint since it seemed to need a little extra pizzaz, and then below I took that close up picture before but that way you can see that I stamped the saying "because I care" on Very Vanilla cardstock and cut it out. Then mounted it with Stampin' Dimensionals.

So while I was stamping one card I figured I may as well make another one to put in my box with cards for when I happen to need one. I used the same color scheme and came up with this.

Enjoy!

Occasions Mini- Sew Suite Card

Well now that the Occasions Mini is in full swing here is a sample that I made with the set that I pre-ordered.

The only thing that this card is missing is a saying.. since it really needs something to fill the top Left corner/centerish.. I figured that something like A Stitch In Time Saves Nine would be good.. but I haven't gotten that far yet.. so hopefully soon. Remember that is always a great option for the customizable stamps that we sell. Great way to come up with your own stamps for the insides of your cards as well! If you would like some more information on this feel free to ask and I would be happy to help you order one!

Happy Stampin'!

Just Believe Card

So I'm trying to do better and post some of my projects on my blog so that everyone else can hopefully be inspired by them as well. Just recently my brother-in-law got engaged, and so we had an engagement party for them at Christmas time. Of course and engagement calls for a card so off I went into my craft-room and came up with this.

Very simple yet cute. I used Marina Mist, whisper White and Basic Gray Cardstock, Old Olive ink for the stems of the flowers, and then Marina Mist for the flowers themselves. Two little pearls to accent the largest flowers, and then Marina Mist 1/4 Inch Grosgrain ribbon.

So once again a very super easy quick card for any occasion if you are like me and don't have a stamp for every single one that you may need a stamp for.

Happy Stampin'!

Blog changes..

Well as I'm sure you've noticed, I've been making a few changes to my blog. Today I added links for Stampin' Up, on the right side the US catalogues and info, and on the right side a little further down the CDN catalogues and info. I've known that I could add these links for a while but sometimes it is just one of these things that you just need to sit down and focus on for a 1/2 hour or so.

I will also be changing my blog header etc in the next few days hopefully. But since that is a bit more work I'll have to see how soon I get that done. Especially because I have some sewing that I really need to get done by the end of this week/beginning of next at the very latest. So in the mean time enjoy the changes that are already made.

I've also added a link to my Etsy shop since I'm hoping that it starts to take off.. sooner rather than later. Anyway please check it out.. and buy something because that would make me really happy :)
