Sewing: Dress

Here is the little dress I've been working on! Thanks to my wonderful mother and all her help, between sending pictures to her by email and calling/talking to her on the phone I got it all figured out! I've never sewn anything like it before so it was interesting to say the least!

Sewing

Sewing seems to be the way I spend half of my days lately. Between orders I have for the boutique that I sew for(currently I plan to be done with that the end of December), plus several gifts I need to finish, as well as a order for a family member. It's ok most of the time, but right now I'm starting to get a little tired of it!

Today is crunch time. I have at least 4 projects to finish in the next 3-4 hours, before my company shows up. Two nursing cover-ups. Finishing two car seat covers(one is pretty much done), as well as a table cloth. So technically 5 but hey one is pretty much finished.

Either way I'll have to post a picture of the pile once I get done! :) In the mean time off I go to see if I can get it done this afternoon!

Sewing, sewing, sewing...

Well that is the story of my life these last few days, and it's not getting any better either. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, because it's actually a good thing. I've got two car seat covers on order one to add to the Baby boutique's collection, and one that I still need to make for a gift. Two nursing cover-ups on order. Plus an apron that is on order and needs to be done asap. Then finally a table cloth which is a gift as well. So does it sound like I have enough sewing I need to get done??

Like I said it's a good thing because a lot of it means that business is starting to take off more and more. The bad side is that I have this feeling one of these days I'm going to be oh so sick and tired of sewing I'm going to want to throw the sewing machine away! :P Well maybe not quite that drastic.. it just means less time for any of my own stuff! :(

Int the end it's all good...

Sewing!

Well, sewing seems to have been the story of my life today! I spent almost all day sewing, I can tell you this much: that it is more than I normally choose to do in a day! LOL :)

Satisfaction: It feels great to have gotten that many pillowcase dresses "finished" in one day. Ok.. I give, they were already half done! LOL :)

Anyway check out this fun pile that I brought to the baby boutique.

One thing that was not so fun about today.. I needed my seam ripper to finish another project that needed button holes but I couldn't find the seam ripper anywhere! :( I search high and low, all over the house anywhere I thought it possibly might be, but nope I couldn't find it anywhere! GRRRRR.... so now you know what I'll be doing on Monday! :)

Pillowcase Dresses..

Well, the latest thing that I've been spending time making is: Pillowcase Dresses! I've currently got quite a few almost finished, and a few more that I need to cut out and then sew! The thing that has me super excited is that they are finally selling in the baby boutique, that I sew them for. I'm currently also trying to get ahead a bit so I can get some more items in my etsy shop.

Either way I'm pretty excited! I did a photoshoot this morning so that for those of you who like to see what it looks like when a little girl has it on could see. Here is a picture of Addison in her pillowcase dress!

Isn't she so cute.. nevermind the dress :)

Etsy: Pilow Case Dresses

Well so I promised to post a picture of the finished pillow case dress so here it is!

I have a little model who will be modeling this dress for me next week, so it will be fun to see what it looks like when she has it on!

Etsy: Looking for suggestions

So I'm currently working on more items for my etsy shop, and for the baby boutique that I sew items for.  My latest projects are 4th of July pillow case dresses, which by the way are turning out super cute (I'll post some pictures when I get them completed.)

Now the thing that has me stumped for ideas is items for little boys. Honestly there has to be cute things that you can sew for little boys as well, so anyone have some ideas? PLEASE, please post a comment and let me know, if you have a link with a picture that's even better!

What's new in my little world today?

Well, on Monday I found an ad on Craigslist, that there is a little boutique with baby items opening and they were looking for someone to sew some baby items for the store. So I decided hmm why not send a message and find out all the details etc. So after doing that.. sending some msgs back and forth. I decided that I was going to try make some of the items she is looking for and then let her know by the end of this week. Deciding this meant that I had to go on a shopping trip for fabric and notions so that I could make one of each of these projects to decide which one I actually want to go with. Even if I decide not to sell them in her store I will probably post them on Etsy... but that isn't necessarily a given yet either so we shall see!

So what are the projects?

- Diaper bag
- Ruffled diaper covers
- Pillow-case dress
and last but not least
- carseat cover

I have a pretty good idea of that items that I think are going to be the easiest to make but I still need to figure it out forsure! I have got all the fabric pre-shrunk now so I guess in the next couple days I'll figure out what I want to do, and I'll be posting some pictures on here!

I'm actually excited about this and definitely hoping that things work! Sure would be nice :)

Aprons

Well I've spent the last few days sewing up a storm.. I have had several aprons almost ready to go for a while. Two were almost ready to go.. I had to sew the last few small details onto them. Then I also had another one that was all ready to be sewn together (technically I have another one like that).. anyway so finally a few days ago I decided that enough was enough, I needed to get some more sewn for my etsy shop, and finish one for an order that I had. It is amazing what some motivation can do to get projects done!

Anyway so head on over to my store and check them out, better yet they need a home :)

Once I got the aprons done I decided to get going on some of my other sewing projects so right now I'm working on finishing my tablecloth's hem, which was another one of those projects that I kept putting off for not good reason. Anyway I have that all ironed and now I just need to sew the hem in, and top stitch the centre seams so off I go to get that done tonight yet!

Soon the excitement begins..

Well, I plan to make tomorrow my big day! I am going to open up my Etsy shop.. I need to finish an apron first and then the news will be out.. I'm currently working on a business card that I can send/hand out to everyone I meet, which has me super excited! Here is a quick look at that (it isn't completely finished due to my site not being up yet):
I used My Digital Studio to create it, and really like how it turned out.. now it is just going to need some fine tuning etc. and then off to the printer ::wink::

Anyway for now my Etsy store will be selling, several different styles of cute aprons, as well as nursing cover-ups. So if you are looking for something fun like that let me know and I can definitely get you set up with either one, or both! ;)

Sewing: Table cloth for large groups...

Well, since I bought my serger last week Friday I've been a busy lady LOL :) Sewing and serging lots of stuff again. My scrapbooking goal has been pushed to the back burner and I'm getting a lot of sewing done now again! That being said I have almost finished the table cloth for when I have both extra leaves in the diningroom table! It really wasn't to hard to do just needed to sit down for a bit and do it, and now that I have a serger it makes my life so much easier!! Anyway here is a picture..

I know it isn't quite done yet.. but a hem won't change the way it looks other than it will be finished off! :) Now I can't wait for the perfect opportunity to use it! LOL :D
